About the Play
Imagine a world where a polarizing, power-mad, rapidly deteriorating ex-US President decides to flee prosecution for multiple civil and criminal charges, along with his immediate – and potentially culpable – dysfunctional family. Oh, wait! No need to imagine… we’re living in it.
In this scathing satire written and directed by veteran TV writer Christian McLaughlin (co-author of 2014’s award-winning Fringe breakout hit MEET & GREET), ex-President Donald has commandeered his second-favorite daughter’s yacht, along with Melania, Tiffany, Ivanka, her husband Jared, and a surprise stowaway! An after-dinner game of Two Truths & A Lie tests loyalties, inflames rivalries, and reveals scandalous, long-buried secrets as titillating as they are horrific.

Christian McLaughlin is an Emmy-winning TV writer, playwright, novelist, and producer. He co-wrote It’s On! (2012 NY Musical Theatre Festival selection); Knife To the Heart; Yes, Virginia; and Meet & Greet – the breakout hit of Hollywood Fringe 2014 that segued immediately into a 4-month Los Angeles run. Trumpery marks Christian’s debut as a solo playwright.
